July–August is when the Mentawai looks the way you see it in films and magazines. Long-period south swells, clean energy, proper size, the kind of conditions that built the reputation of the islands. This is traditionally the core window for Kandui, EBay and Hideaways. And sometimes, when patterns shift, Rifles and Bankvaults light up too, like they did last year.
